About the role

Goal Get It! is seeking a Finance Manager/Controller to strengthen budgeting, controls, reporting, and audit readiness—ensuring programs scale responsibly and Lu’s legacy is stewarded with rigor and transparency.

What you’ll do

  • Own month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statements.

  • Build and maintain strong internal controls (approvals, segregation of duties, documentation standards).

  • Track restricted program funds and ensure accurate categorization/reporting.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual reporting for leadership.

  • Coordinate annual audit and improve finance policies and procedures.

  • Use AI tools to speed drafting of policies, reporting narratives, variance explanations, and control checklists—while verifying accuracy and maintaining confidentiality.

Education & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent experience).

  • 2+ years in accounting/finance operations with ownership of close and controls.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Strong GAAP fundamentals, close process leadership, and internal controls expertise.

  • High integrity, excellent judgment, and strong communication with non-finance stakeholders.

  • Substantive AI tool use: able to leverage AI for reporting and documentation while validating outputs and safeguarding financial data.

Nice to have

  • CPA, nonprofit/restricted funds experience, audit leadership, finance systems implementation.

Working conditions

Peak periods during close, budgeting, audit, and major program disbursement cycles.

Compensation

This role is open to candidates regardless of location. Compensation will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

Expected base salary range (annual, USD): $91,000 – $135,000.

Goal Get It! and Lu Memorial Foundation provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the role, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
